Self Care Mumma

I know being a mum it can often be quite challenging to find the time for yourself.  You have probably forgotten what it feels like or you have no idea what lights your soul anymore!  I also know we put others first before ourselves, we are often the last that we make time for!

Does your mum guilt also get the better of you when you finally have time out?

What I’ve learnt over time is that if us mums don’t put ourselves to the top of the list our loved ones get what’s leftover of us.  Our cups are empty, we can often feel resentment plus we don’t have much more to give, the last straw we end up exhausted and burnt out!!!

When I talk about self care it’s not being selfish it’s a necessity to make time for you!  We all have different ways that nourish our souls, which help keep us healthy and in alignment with our life!!!

If you have no idea where to start and it’s still a learning progress for me.  Here’s some ideas as my favourite things to do which nourish my soul, is getting enough sleep, having quiet time to myself, reading a book, going for a walk, going to the beach, catching up with friends and cooking delicious nourishing food.

So how do us busy mums find that solo time we long for?  How do we make time for ourselves?

One thing I know for sure is if I don't put it in the calendar then things always come up and it never seems to happen!  If you book yourself in for a massage, facial or a class each week something you have been wanting to do or try, you could even go one step further and pay for the term that way you definitely know you will commit to it!

So mummas I urge you if you are struggling with timeout, get the calendar out, plan your week, your month how ever far in advanced you can because you don’t won’t to get to that burnt out and run down feeling we can often get!

You want to be giving your loved ones all of you once you have filled your cup and not what’s leftover 💕

Much love,

Beck x
